Koh Larn is a small island town in Thailand about 10 km from the mainland coast of Pattaya.
It’s known for its beautiful white sandy beaches and crystal clear blue waters and there are many beautiful beaches on Koh Larn, but which one is the best?
How To Get To Koh Larn
There are several ways to get to Koh Larn but the easiest way is by ferry from Bali Hai Pier in Pattaya. There are also speedboats that run between Koh Larn and the mainland but the island is usually connected by ferries from early morning.
Koh Larn only gets a few rainy months and during these months, there is a limited ferry service so if you are coming from Bangkok for the weekend, bear that in mind during the rainy season.
Those who are flying into Pattaya should be aware that the ferry service is available to some of Koh Larn’s piers so you may want to contact the nearest ferry terminal for schedule and ticket information.
The Main Beaches On Koh Larn
Visitors from nearby Pattaya frequently make the short journey to Koh Larn for the day to enjoy the island’s stunning beaches. Even though it’s a small island, there are plenty of great beaches where you may relax and unwind throughout your vacation.
The beaches of Koh Larn are breathtaking, with their powdery white sand, turquoise ocean, and vivid blue skies. Some of the bays are especially peaceful, making this an ideal destination for anyone seeking a peaceful getaway from the bustle of Pattaya.
Nual (Monkey Beach) Beach
The southernmost beach on Koh Larn is called Nual Beach, but locals and visitors alike know it as Monkey Beach. There’s a beautiful sandy beach, some red rocks, clear blue water, and maybe even some monkeys in the bay.
You can eat at the restaurant or have a drink at the beach bar. Nual Beach, one of Koh Larn’s finest, has a fantastic vibe and is well worth a visit. There are a lot of people there, yet it doesn’t feel too packed.
Tien Beach
The stunning Tien Beach, located in the western part of Koh Larn, is another of the island’s top beaches. Some consider this white sand beach to be the most attractive on all of Koh Larn.
This bay is quite stunning, too. The lack of a direct taxi route to this paradise beach likely accounts for the relative peace and quiet you’ll find here.
The beach can be reached via a short walk down the coast that takes about 5 minutes. There’s a beautiful view, a calm water, and lots of room once you get there. Snorkeling is a fun activity that can be enjoyed at Tien Beach as well.
Samae Beach
Towards the west end of Koh Larn, you’ll find the stunning and often visited Samae Beach. Clear water and plenty of room make the long bay perfect for swimming. The sand here is coarser and darker than the rest of Koh Larn’s beaches.
The island’s best vantage point is the pavilion atop Samae Beach Viewpoint. At the far end of Samae Beach, you can walk up a short set of stairs to get here.
One of the best Koh Larn beach hotels with a breathtaking outlook is the vibrant Xanadu Beach Resort.
Tong Lang Beach
Another stunning beach on Koh Larn is Tong Lang. Tourists from Pattaya often spend the day at this destination, which is located on the island’s north-east.
You can also participate in a wide variety of beach activities, such as jet skiing, banana boating, and much more. In the afternoon, when the tour boats have left, the beach is considerably quieter and you can have it all to yourself to relax and enjoy.
Koh Larn, a small island off the coast of Thailand, is home to several beautiful sights in addition to its famed beaches.
Just a short trip from Bangkok or Pattaya will get you to this idyllic island. In particular, the afternoons are perfect for relaxing and enjoying the island without disturbing anyone else.
Tawaen Beach
Tawaen Beach, at 700 metres in length, is Koh Larn’s longest and most popular beach. You’ll feel like you’ve stepped onto the pages of a travel brochure with the picture-perfect white sand beach and turquoise water.
Tawaen Beach is the most popular on the island since it serves as a port for both the ferry and the speed boats coming from Pattaya.
Nearly every establishment along Tawaen Beach offers various watersports and other beach activities like jet skiing, underwater strolling and banana boat rides and there are many restaurants and gift shops.
However, Tawaen Beach is the stuff of fantasies. Visit the island after the day-trippers have left for a more peaceful experience. Then tranquilly will return, and you can take in all the splendour of the beach.
Sang Wan Beach
An elevated walkway connects Tawaen Beach to Sang Wan Beach to the west, past Tawaen Pier. The smooth, white sands of this beach are a sight to behold and make for a great area to go swimming. Snorkeling is superb in this little bay.
The water is exceptionally transparent, so if you dive below you might be able to see some tropical fish. The early morning hours are the most peaceful on the beach, but the daytime hours see a steady increase in the number of visitors.
Ta Yai Beach
Located in the northern part of Koh Larn, Ta Yai Beach is one of the nicest beaches in the world. It is also known as Grandparents Beach. In this quiet cove, you’ll find stunning water hues, soft, fine sand, and a peaceful atmosphere.
While we do provide sun chairs and umbrellas, you will still have plenty of room to spread out your own towel. Snorkeling enthusiasts can also find pleasant locations to explore the seafloor of Koh Larn. Incredibly picturesque and a must-see on any trip!
