When the question is asked, “Is Pattaya or Patong best for nightlife,” my answer would always be to try them both out and come to your own conclusion. However, for those who can only visit Pattaya OR Patong, let me try and help you decide over the next few minutes…
– PATTAYA –
Pattaya is known as the ‘Queen of Nightlife’ due to its abundance of bars, pubs and clubs with many visitors flocking here for drinking, dancing and a whole lot more.
Bars and pubs can be found on nearly every street in the city centre and there are also plenty of gay and ladyboy bars where you can dance with locals till the early hours if that’s your thing.
The nightlife in Pattaya is second to none so if you love clubbing, have a craving for a good drink or simply want to let loose, then you need to visit Pattaya at night. Whether you’re single or in a relationship there’s something for everyone from about 7pm until the early hours.
The party doesn’t end when most other places shut up shop for the night but don’t worry we’ve got you covered until then so keep on reading…
Which Bars Are Open In Pattaya After Midnight
As mentioned above, most places will be shut up shop by about 2am and many restaurants and bars will also close their doors at this time. However, there are a few places in the city centre that open until 4am, and the beach road is lined with bars and clubs that stay open until 6am. There are also a few after-hour clubs that stay open until 10am.
If you’re looking to get your drink on after midnight, then head to one of the popular go-go bars on Soi 34 and have a good time with Thai guys. The go-go bars are fun and cheap, and offer a unique experience for backpackers.
What’s The Best Nightclub In Pattaya
This would have to be the Alley Cats club on Soi 11 which has a two-floor club and a separate nightclub. The club has a sexy, modern feel and is full of people dancing and socialising. It’s a popular place to go on Friday and Saturday nights, and is a great place to meet new people.
The Alley Cats nightclub can be found on Soi 11 and is open until 6am but make sure you get there early as it’s very popular! The same question can be asked about the other popular nightclub on Soi 11: The Pink Panther, however, the Pink Panther is more of a gay club so you won’t find many girls here but it is cheaper than the Alley Cats and is open until 6am.

Go-Go Clubs And Bars
The go-go bars are basically Thai lap-dancing clubs where you can get a lapdance for any girl you’re prepared to buy a drink for. The bars are not really a place for dancing yourself but for watching the girls do their thing on stage with some of them being more ‘adult’ than others if you know what i mean.
The go-go bars are fun but can be expensive if you’re there for longer than a few drinks and offer a unique experience for backpackers and tourists alike of something most people won’t ever see in their own countries.
If you’re looking for a more traditional experience, then you should check out the How Do I Bar on Soi 13. This bar has been around for decades and has a smaller undercover go-go room where you can sit and watch the dancers perform.
The bar also offers a variety of alcoholic drinks and has a pool table where you can relax and unwind after a long day of exploring the city. If you want to see the dancers up close, then you should visit the Pink Panther on Soi 34. This bar has a stage where the dancers perform and perform choreographed stunts while they are dancing.
Open-Air Bars In Pattaya
If you want to experience a bit more of Pattaya, then you can visit an open-air bar for a Thai experience. There are many bars in Pattaya that are open-air especially around the Soi Buakhao area and adjoining Soi’s and there is now a new area around Buakhao called Tree Town which is full of restaurants and bars and is a constant hub of activity especially at night when it really comes alive.
Safety Tips For Nightlife In Pattaya
Always ask your hotel for advice on where to go, who to avoid and what to watch out for.
Always stick to your own group when going out and ensure you have enough money for taxis home.
Stay away from drugs AT ALL TIMES! Don’t be a fool cause you will regret it..
Don’t accept drinks from strangers.

Party ’til dawn at a nightclub
If you’re looking for something a little more exciting to do in Pattaya after dark, then you can head to a nightclub and party ’til dawn. Many nightclubs in Pattaya offer all-night parties and you can often find free entry or cheap entry if you arrive after 11pm.
Getting Around Pattaya At Night
If you’re planning on visiting many places around Central Pattaya on your night out, you can easily get around on foot or by baht bus. There are also many car and bike taxis available in all areas of the city centre no matter what time of the night you may need one.
– PATONG, PHUKET –

Many bars and clubs don’t open until after 6 p.m. (18:00) or 9 p.m. (19:00). (7 pm). Clubs and discos stay open until well into the early hours of the morning, typically until 4 or 5 in the morning at least depending if they are still busy, so why not give it a go? Have a night out in Patong and Pattaya if possible and you be the judge of which one is best.
– VERDICT –
For me personally, i think both are great nights out but i would definitely give the final verdict to Pattaya. There is just nowhere on earth more wild, crazy and potentially debaucherous than Pattaya on a night out.
The place is absolutely bonkers and somewhere where millions of tourists and those from Bangkok tend to head to on a regular basis, so i think that tells it’s own story.
