How To Get From Pattaya To Phuket By Train

There are three trains departing from Bangkok’s Huan Mai station every day that connect Pattaya with Phuket. To get from Pattaya to Phuket by train, you first need to take the bus from Pattaya to Bangkok to catch a connecting train or flight to Phuket.

If you’re flying to Phuket, there are two airlines that fly from Bangkok to Phuket: Thai Airways and Vietjet Airlines. If you’re taking the train from Bangkok to Phuket, prepare yourself for a very long journey.

How To Get From Pattaya To Phuket By Bus

There are three daily bus services connecting Pattaya with Phuket and the first bus leaves at 6:30 am from Pattaya’s New Road bus station and arrives in Phuket at 9:00 pm. The second bus departs at 10:00 am, arriving in Phuket at around 2:00 am and the third bus departs at 6:00 pm, arriving in Phuket at 8:00 am.

If you prefer to travel by bus, it’s easier to take the bus from Bangkok to Phang-nguy and then another bus from Phang-nguy to Phuket.

How To Get From Pattaya To Phuket By Plane

You can fly directly to Phuket from Pattaya’s Utapao Airport with Bangkok Airways which takes around 90 minutes every Tues/Thurs/Sat or there is a daily flight taking 1 hour 40 minutes by Air ATC.

There are also flights every Wed/Fri/Sun which take longer, around 3 hours or so but they stop off at Koh Samui on the way to Phuket.

If you’re looking for a quick trip from Pattaya to Phuket, you can fly to Phuket’s Phuket International Airport from Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport which only takes around 45 minutes. Of course you have to take the bus from Pattaya to Bangkok Airport first but that only takes around 90 minutes or so.

If you’d like to fly to Phuket’s island, you can take a flight from Bangkok’s Don Mueang Airport to Phuket’s Mae Airport which takes around 50 minutes. 

How Long Does It Take To Get From Pattaya To Phuket

It takes around 9 hours by train to get from Bangkok to Phuket after it took about 2 hours to get from Pattaya to Bangkok. There is no train directly from Pattaya to Phuket so you must catch the train from Bangkok.

It takes around 14 hours to get from Pattaya to Phuket just by bus and that includes several stops along the way and if you’d like to visit both Phuket and Phi Phi, you can fly from Bangkok to Phuket in around 1.5 hours and then take a ferry from Phuket to Phi Phi.
